Brazil is expected to surpass the USA in soybean production in the 2019/2020 season
For years, Brazil has been trying to leave the title of second largest soybean producer in the world to the USA. The estimate, however, is that Brazil will, in fact, surpass its biggest competitor in the 2019/2020 season.
Brazil will be able to harvest a record harvest, exceeding the 120 million tons of soybeans in the season and surpass the 97 million tons of soybeans that the United States foresees to harvest in the period, according to data confirmed by the October report of the Department of Country Agriculture (USDA).
Mato Grosso continues to be the main grain producer in the country, with a production of 33.1 million tons, 2% more than the previous harvest. The fight for the second position will be fierce between Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, which should produce 19.2 million tons and 18.3 million tons, respectively.
